Well I am Freaking OUT!

I am going to try to make a long story shorter. On Sunday Ellie's clogged tear duct began to look like more than a clogged duct. I called the ped. nurse on Monday and she called in some prescription antibiotic drops to our local Rite Aid. Well I actually didn't get to use them until Monday night. She said after 24 hours on the drugs I should see a dramatic improvement in her eye. Well Tuesday night was 24 hours and I was seeing little to no improvement. So I took her in to pediatrician on Wednesday morning. Dr. Rawlings pointed out that her eye was also dilated and severely infected. He asked me if I had noticed when it had become dilated. Well actually I had NO CLUE it was dilated. I had not even noticed.... Well we began a game of process of elimination while he spoke with a local pediatric opthamologist. TURNS OUT that the IDIOTS at RITE AID filled the wrong drug. Instead of an antibiotic drop they had given us a dilator. By this point I had dilated her eyes 4 times in two days!!! Not mention I took her out in direct sun and planted flowers with her eye dilated b/c I didn't know. I was sick to my stomach and in tears to know that my sweet little baby had been through sunlight torture! NOW 4-5 days into an eye infection we are using a new antibiotic drops, but we still have on very nasty eye. I am taking her back to the doctor tomorrow b/c I just want to make sure we are controlling the infection. I hope to have her thoroughly examined by a pediatric opthalmogist to assess any damage. In the short term I hate RITE AID they are incompetent and irresponsible.
